The Salt Mines is more than just a shared office space; We’re a community of independent professionals, from freelancers and entrepreneurs to artists and startups. We want to help you get connected to the community as easily as possible so you can start taking advantage of this awesome network of people, as well as start contributing to it yourself.

Keep an eye on your inbox for the monthly email newsletter. Most of the time it reiterates upcoming event dates, but we do also take the time each month to highlight some of the cool things are members are working on. Take a few minutes each month to look it over and catch up with something you may have missed.

Social Media

We also have official Twitter and Facebook accounts that we use regularly for announcing events, but feel free to tag any Twitter or Facebook posts with #TheSaltMines to tap into our community there, as well.


One of the upsides to having such a young community is that it’s very easy to get connected; Most days at The Salt Mines, you’ll find 3-4 other people there working so you shouldn’t have any trouble striking up a conversation with current members. Be sure to say ‘hi’ and get to know your fellow community members. There are no bad apples here, so anyone you talk to is going to be someone worth getting to know.

Our advice? Ask people if they need coffee refills. Invite yourself along for lunch. See if people want to grab a drink after work. Keep in mind that everyone at The Salt Mines is there because they want to work in community, so you’re never going to be out of line asking questions or trying to strike up a conversation.


Business hours aren’t the only time things are happening at The Salt Mines. Be sure to keep track of our other non-work related, regularly scheduled events.

Second Shift

Every Tuesday evening, The Salt Mines stays open late for members who love coworking but either work traditional day jobs or else just prefer working in the evening. Stop in from 7pm to midnight and work with the evening crowd. We continue to make coffee available, but most people bring in their own evening beverages.

Member Lunch

Around the middle of each month—the third Tuesday, to be specific—we raid the petty cash drawer and order up pizza for the office. It’s a great time to catch up with coworkers, see what everyone is working on, and talk about how we can make The Salt Mines an even better place to work. We always announce the date in the monthly member email, but you can also check it out on the Member Lunch event page.

Finally, think about how you can make use of this space. The Salt Mines is your community, and we want to make the space available for you to host events for things you care about. If you have something you would like to schedule after hours or on the weekends, book it with our online booking system. This space wants to be full of awesome people doing awesome things, so go crazy!
