Neighborhood

Some of the questions that come up the most when new members join up — almost immediately after “what’s the wifi password?” — is “Where is the best place to go for…” We’ve put together a quick guide to the neighborhood to help get you started. If there’s something you’re looking for that’s not here, look around and ask a neighbor.

Note: Look for updates soon with information on the neighborhood around our new location

Where can I pickup some beer?

Great question. Clintonville has a lot of great places to pick up bottles, cans or growler fills. We highly recommend Savor Growl which is right next door. It doesn't get more convenient than that. With 60 taps, they have a lot of great options, and they'll also give you a 10% discount on growler fills if you mention The Salt Mines. You can check out their current list of what's on tap on their BeerMenu page or just pick up a six pack from the cooler. Otherwise, there's are several other good options closeby.

Where can I get send packages / letters / get stamps?

If you already have stamps and just need to mail some letters, you can set them by the front door for the mailman to pick up. If you need stamps, packaging, or more complicated services like delivery confirmation or tracking, The Clintonville branch post office is just down the street at Olentangy and High Street. It's a full-service post office that is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm

Where can I get office supplies?

Unfortunately, there's not a lot super close. Your best option is either OfficeMax to the north or Staples down at Lennox.

Where can I get COTA bus passes?

Most Kroger and Giant Eagle grocery stores sell COTA bus passes, although they are generally all cash-only. Please call ahead to make sure they sell the type of pass you are looking for.

Where can I send / receive a fax?

Fax is still a thing? Just kidding, we know some clients do things the really old fashioned way. The main number at The Salt Mines (614-859-9559) doubles as an incoming fax service, so if you need to receive the occasional fax just make sure they address it ATTN: your name and when it comes in we'll forward it on. If you need to send a fax, you might want to either visit a local FedEx Office location or try out one of the many online fax services. HelloFax offers a free, intro-level service that allows you send 5 pages a month. That may be a good place to start.

Where can I eat some lunch?

If you're in a hurry, your quickest option is the Taste of Greece food truck next door, in the Savor Growl parking lot. They open daily at 11am and when you're in a hurry it's tough to beat a $3 gyro. You can also order delivery from Cornerstone Deli, but there is a $12 minimum with a $2 delivery fee—a good option when several people want to place an order at once, though. Additionally, you can order delivery from many local restaurants through Cafe Courier. If you're looking for a place to dine in, you have a lot of options on High Street, a ten minute walk west.
